The Tom Ford SS’11 show. Instead of models, he had beautiful women who inspire him modeling the clothes, including Julia Restin Roitfeld, Julianne Moore, Daphne Guinness, etc. Love that idea. No photos were allowed during the show, so that the collection is a surprise when it comes out, but just these photos of the entrance are enough to make me swoon. When he does something, he does it right, no?

OK, this is not the kind of blog where I post pictures of my outfits, but this is a little crazy– just came across
Anna dello Russo in this dress that looks uncannily like the dress I wore on New Years, and I just had to share. Short striped sequined dresses with long sleeves were not the most common thing last time I checked… I actually got mine at a thrift store and cut about two feet off the bottom, so it wasn’t even something I found in a shop!
Even the shoes! You can’t see the shoes I’m wearing so I added a separate pic of those, and they’re fairly identical to the ones she’s wearing…

I unabashedly love Keri Russell. I’ve seen every episode of Felicity (which says a lot, seeing as I’m not a TV person… I think the show actually might’ve been a subconscious reason I went to NYU (Felicitiy went to “UNY” on the show)), and have watched Waitress almost as many times as I’ve watched When Harry Met Sally.
She’s just so darn charming, she has great hair, and I love that she married a carpenter and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and baby. And then she went and wore this great outfit and I had to put her on the blog.

E. Tautz, whose awesome branding I mentioned back
here, is sponsoring an effort to bring back snail mail. As a part of this project, they are asking influential fashion icons and writers to write postcards with quotes or quips or lessons about style. I loved this one above– it’s so true! If you could have all of those things your style would be pretty unstoppable.
PS – Patrick Grant, the guy who bought E. Tautz and it’s parent company Norton & Sons, gives an interesting interview on his own thoughts on style
here.

Love the happy-go-lucky English weekend-y lookbook for Thomas Pink’s new collection…
“Conscious of the ever blurring line between dress up and dress down, Thomas Pink has created the Informal Collection.”

Partners & Spade also helped produce this animated video about the history of Boast and its founder, Bill St. John, the tennis pro at the Field Club of Greenwich.
I’m pretty taken by Partners & Spade (and, well, all the Spades for that matter)… they crush it every time. See past post on Partners & Spade
here.
